Camera shy is not the right term for Scout. Camera averse is a little too strong. She tolerates the camera, as long as it doesn’t impede her list of things to do.
In this photograph it is clearly interrupting the throwing of a ball.
Camera tolerance is low.

My first photo of a year-long photographic project with Scout.
It’s fitting that we’re hiking in the woods, where she’s the happiest.
And always a look back to see where I am.
Hi Girl.
It’s been hot in my little part of the world.
So I’ve been swimming often.
It’s my favorite thing.
(Psst… take a look at my webby toes.)

I am wise.
I am brown.
I spy with my little eye…
everything green.
The whiskers are a little grayer.
That spot on my nose is a little pinker.
But look into my eyes…
They seem to know a little bit more.
I like being in black and white.
Once in awhile.
And if you’re going to take my picture this close,
I will put my nose on it. Every. Time.
I’ll wait.
But only because you tell me to…
I’m on edge and Carrie Fisher knew what she was writing about.
“Instant gratification takes too long.”
Summer is here. Doesn’t matter what the calendar says… (I’m a dog anyway, so dates are immaterial.)
I’ve got my summer glow on.
Pretty, yes?
Can you hear the snuffle? Oh yeah. This is the one patch of grass in my yard and I enjoy it to the fullest.
Freshly mown (is that a word?)
Green smells great.
This is what I would look like if I was a punk rocker hitting my signature high note/scream.
Alas, just a yawn…
Rawrrr.
