Canning Paper Goods Giveaway :: now on the blog

Hello, and yes, it’s still Monday. And RiverDog Prints is still having a Canning Giveaway to kickoff the summertime canning season! I am switching the canning giveaway to the blog, as it’s a violation to hold a giveaway on Facebook. Who knew? Well, my friend, Bridgett did, so thanks for the heads up, B!

The giveaway prize is a set of 12 Canning Tags (double tags tied with baker’s twine for gift wrapping your creations) and two sheets of round labels/stickers for your regular or wide-mouth jars. The design will be the winner’s choice. I’ve added a new design to the canning line of tags and labels/stickers, which is pictured below. It’s called Vintage Posie. I’ll be adding it to the stores on Etsy and at RiverDogPrints.com sometime tonight.

RiverDog Prints is having a Canning Giveaway to kickoff the summertime canning season! The giveaway is on our Facebook Page, so visit there for all the details. We’ve added a new design to our canning line of tags and labels/stickers, which is pictured below. It’s called Vintage Posie. I am very excited to host this giveaway of canning goodies!

One of the best instructional books I’ve read in awhile is Canning and Preserving with Ashley English: All you Need to Know to Make Jams, Jellies, Pickles, Chutneys & More. Ashley is the blog author of Small Measure, one of my favorite reads and a great tribute to homemade living. Canning & Preserving is one of her first books in a series called Homemade Living and it’s a terrific guide for anyone who wants to start canning. I’ve read it cover to cover and am SO ready to begin making my own homemade goodies.

I first met Ashley through her blog, where she was having a monthly giveaway of one of the canned creations from her book. I was the lucky winner of the September giveaway of Fig & Thyme Jam. It was so delicious that I had to send her a special thank you and I created tags for her canning jars. That sparked the creation of my own line of canning tags & labels. I asked for Ashley’s input on what she would look for and she graciously gave me her advice in the middle of a book deadline. I can’t thank her enough for taking the time and for sharing her expert opinion.

The giveaway includes one copy of Canning and Preserving with Ashley English: All you Need to Know to Make Jams, Jellies, Pickles, Chutneys & More, one set of 12 canning tags and one set of canning labels in the winner’s choice of design. ZENmamaGranola – I might like that

I’ve been pretty lucky in my on-line travels.

Here are some things that I’ve won:

Fig & Thyme Jam from the lovely and talented, Ashley English of Small Measure.

Kona Coffee and Chocolate-covered macadamia nuts in a blog hop from Joscie, who lives in Honolulu.

Clip sheets from Whitney English for simply retweeting about them (would have done that anyway!) And now they come with photos…

A beautiful set of letterpress notecards made by Delphine Press on Neenah Paper were sent to me just for joining in on a conversation with Delphine’s Founder and Designer, Erika Firm, led by Jamie Saunders from Neenah (read the conversation here.)

My latest lucky break was the giveaway on Melanie’s blog, Paper Mango. She had written about ZENmamaGranola in her Sustainability series and decided to do a giveaway. Guess who won? Woo-hoo! The tagline for Christy’s granola is Best. Granola. Ever! And yup, it is.

I worry when there is something sweet in our house that I find irresistible. I tend to commit “snarfing”, which is a crime against oneself and not pretty. One of the great things about this granola is how satisfying it is. I was able to eat a reasonable amount and feel totally sated. 90% of the ingredients are organic and all the packaging is green. I recommend getting some here today!

I don’t think I spend time looking for these opportunities. I’m just here, trying to design and sell paper goods, and I see something that makes me think, “I might like that…” This process has introduced me to some great women and the things they design and make everyday. And I like that quite a bit.

Our Last December Giveaway

Welcome to the last giveaway week of our holiday giveaway extravaganza!

RiverDog Prints doesn’t actually do extravaganzas (even if we were big enough, we probably wouldn’t), but we are offering a rope toy from Teeny’s Friends and some lovely dog stationery from a new line at RDP. Just add a comment below and you’re in!
