Brand New :: Little Notebooks

2012 will be filled with new designs and products at the RiverDog Prints shop. To kick off this year-long “woo-hoo thing” are some sweet little take-a-long notebooks in both kraft and linen papers.

There are many more designs, all printed in our eco-friendly way, and ready to go with you wherever you travel. My husband took the Herringbone design with him this morning. Check out all of them here in our Etsy shop.

The first designs for spring stationery. I have four more flowers to draw and color, but I’m excited with these bright and fresh cards. I’m digging the chevron stripes for the envelope liners too.

I needed to create some love on another snow day in our part of the US. Below are some dog-centric valentines I listed on Etsy. Now that I can check those off, it’s time to go create some love with my kids. Have a happy snow day (even if you have no snow!)

I have the tendency to hide out from Black Friday until Sunday. If you venture out or stay home, whatever you choose to spend your hard-earned money on this weekend, think about saving a little for Monday and RDP. We’ll be having a one-day sale for Cyber Monday (cuz that’s where we live) and we’ll have some new designs and products added to the store. Lots of great gifts to choose from and end of the year greetings to your friends and family.

Eat lots of whatever you like tomorrow. It’s part of the fun! Why do you think they say, “Gobble, gobble!”?

Tiny Holiday Preview

Happy New Year

I know… This greeting sounds odd to some ears, but soon it will be the Jewish New Year. The Hebrew calendar follows the lunar year (354 days), as opposed to the solar year (365 days.) A more thorough explanation is here, if you’re interested. This Lunar Year seems to be going faster then most because the Jewish holidays appear so early this year. Rosh Hashana is September 8 at sundown and Hanukkah begins December 1!

I like that the holiday is looked upon as a renewal and is celebrated with sweet things, like apples and honey. It’s also a time to reflect on the year that has passed. I’ve created a couple photo card designs for Rosh Hashana. I’m trying a new size of card, which will show up for all the holiday cards this season and the palette is warm and sweet to celebrate the new year. L’Shanah Tovah!

44 x 44 – Double Digits

Well, crikey! I’m finally in double digits for reaching my goal in August. After three months, it should be more. And the funny thing is (weird funny, not fun funny), I know exactly what I’m doing wrong to make the loss so s-l-o-w.

I’m a yo-yo-er. So, I’ve done this before at various times in my life. In my 20s, all I needed to do was some cardio everyday, stop eating crap and I could lose 30 pounds in 3 months. My 43-year-old self needs a bit more of a strategy. I need much more structure in my daily life to accomplish what needs to get done, both personally and in business. This irks the part of me that likes spontaneity, so I’ll have to figure out how to balance that with the Virgo traits.

These are the things I need to do, in no particular order:
Yoga daily
A little ab work daily
Continue cardio routine
Do a better job on vacation

As of today, I still have 152 days until my goal date. That’s a pretty big chunk of time to get this thing right. And the goal is not the number. It’s learning behavior and learning to like the parts I think I don’t.

Okay, enough philosophizing… look at the birth announcement I made for the Minted Here Comes Spring Birth Announcement Challenge. Even though I don’t design announcements any more, I felt inspired. The best time to design…
